Description

Available to order from supplier.

Pseudanthias squamipinnis, known as Lyretail anthias. It is a medium-sized Pseudanthias species that comes in all sorts of shades of purple/red/orange. Females are always orange.

Like all anthias, it is an active, rarely shy fish that is best kept in a group/school of at least 4-6 fish. When buying a school you don't need to worry about the sex ratio because these fish are hermaphrodites. This means that the most dominant fish will automatically turn into the male when there is no other male around.

Keeping this fish in greater numbers will certainly make it shine. However, make sure they can eat several times a day, because in the wild they feed on zooplankton all day long and are not prepared for one meal a day!
