Salarias fasciatus, known as the Jeweled blenny, is a well-known medium-sized blenny. The greenish-brown mottled pattern makes it blend in with the reef. But this fish usually becomes quite bold, making it easy to spot.

They usually live solitary on dead corals in muddy bays and lagoons where algae are abundant. They may be best kept alone or as a pair. They feed mainly on algae and can be best fed with high-quality algae flakes and pellets, even if there is algae in the aquarium!
