Salarias ramosus, known as Starry blenny, is a medium-sized blenny. Its base color is a very dark red, almost black with hundreds of small white spots, making it look like a starry sky at night. They also have white around their mouth, the bases of their pectoral fins, and some small white saddle/band-shaped spots on their body, as well as white horns.

These fish generally live alone or in small groups on shallow reefs and even in brackish estuaries. They may be best kept alone or in pairs unless a huge tank with ample hiding places can be provided. They feed mainly on algae and can be best fed with high-quality algae flakes and pellets, even if there is algae in the aquarium!
